ROUND THREE - EXPLORER'S SUIT

For round three, we'd like to see each entrance in the kind of gear her people might wear to explore unfamiliar planets. It should keep all of them safe and secure in some way, should protect what needs protecting while still allowing them to make use of their most important senses.

Please remember that you should be using the same base as for other rounds.

Al Na'ir
While highly secretive about their own home and culture, Na'irians have few moral qualms about exploring other planets, considering it their right as a highly developed species. The list of planets and solar systems they have already visited and documented is quite impressive, and constantly expanding. While Na'irians continiue to deny it, rumors have it they also like to experiment on different life forms.

The standard Na'irian explorer outfit is designed to be both comfortable yet protective. Covering up most of the body, it is made of very strong artificial material. While quite simplistic by design, the incorporated Na'irian technology offers plenty of options. Probably the most important and unique aspect of the outfit is the fact that it can render it's wearer invisible, thus allowing Na'irians to observe local lifeforms up close and personal without any problems.

Also a part of the standard equipment is a portable storage device. Handy for keeping all the gathered samples and other necessary equipment.

Caph
The suit is made of duritanium alloy, a metal that was created by Caph's greatest geologists.  It protects the Siidio body for harmful radiation and other harmful substances.  The blue circuitry on her suit gives the star ship she is traveling on instant feedback of what she has contact with including the air.  A polarized fore-field is emitted from small devices around her neck that protects her from harmful things in the air and anything that could come in contact with her face or respiratory systems, but allows her to see without hampering her sight.  Siidio often pull longer hair back, close to the neck so it does not interfere with the force-field.  Small buttons on the belt of the suit can tell the ship there is an emergency without having to use communication and can initiate transportation back to the ship as well. The markings on her face is an age old tradition of painting the face with a slimy substance that would give traveler's luck.

Sileena often left her home world to visit other colonies on habitable planets like many Siidio do.  She studying off world on a station in temporal harmonics, and used the suit many times to experience some spacial anamolies first hand.  It is quite effective at keeping out particles in a nebula.

Gomeisa
Fenyn’s pants are made of a lightweight but indestructible material that is only manufactured on Gomeisa. Her arms and legs are covered by armor plates, as are her shoulders. On her face is a filtering mask to protect her from breathing in any toxic chemicals. She has been trained in weaponry since she was very small, and her club can be a lethal weapon, that she uses for protection on unknown planets.

Mirfak
Before being invaded, the Pfdrucks, didn't even have the interest of studying life in other planets. They enjoy the underground too much to dream about ships that would take them away from them. So, they haven't had much time to study how their bodies react to different conditions. Most have never left their planet at all, there's few that have thanks to the technology brought by the Dwarnk.

Still, their few trips out of their planet have shown that their thick skin is enough protection to any negative radiation or other  dangers. So, only protection their wear, is from the cold. Mirfak is quite a hot planet, even underground (the temperature is lower here, but not too much). So the Pfdrucks aren't used to extreme colds, yet, they'd rather have their heads without covering, as they'd rather hav their crests and abundant hair out. And also because they'd rather not protect or cover their eyes, as it is one of their best qualities is their sight, able to adapt from dark to light fast. Their sight also allow them to see well in almost darkness, so they refuse to get them covered.  Ther'es myths of Pfdrucks controlling lower beings by staring at their eyes, as if they hypnotized them, but those are myths and havent ben proven.

The suit is made of a fabric, thick enough to not be damaged, and prepaired in a way it will not let the body warmth be lost, yet it wont absord too much of light (a bit yes, but not so much, meaning it wont reheat). They tend to b loose, or designed to be light in weight and comfortable to allow most of movement. As they are small, and big pacifists to tak wapons with them...sometime they do need to make sure they can run fast from danger(another reason why thy would rather not ventur into space).  Their do wear masks to breath, having a pair of tubes comming from the mask that go behind the head, where there's an air recicler. This is just an improved version of the one they'd wear in their own planet when going too deep in the rocks(as security). On the suit, in this one, close to th shoulders and over the blly, there's gems attached, as good luck amulets. As mentioned before, the Pfdrucks dont like the idea of being away from the ground, and that along with their religion, makes them pray for protection and add protection chrams on the outfits of the ones going out of their planet into space.

Rasalgethi
The role of exploration in Vael'tashi society is one that is traditionally held by Tein(males) and, infrequently, by Ka'in(shifting gender). The suit is close fitting to the body, made of several layers of haek'tiret (a thin, flexible metal 'fabric' made from what has been termed Raathkite ore by offworlders). The outer layer is hardest and is fitted with tir'taka gems of small and large sizes. The gems connect to complex circuitry inset between the haek'tiret layers and power the very strong force fields that span the rest of the body. The suit is not meant to cover the body completely as there would be too much to remove if switching from hospitable atmospheres to toxic ones. The fields are activated through gentle pressure upon the gems on the headpiece and chestplate.

Given that the wearer of the suit is most commonly one of the Tein gender, Kii'anteth's suit was specially made for her when she was chosen to represent her planet among the offworlders. Since she is Ka'in, her suit required being a bit more flexible in certain places. Some may question where the Vael'tashi entrant's hair has gone: Tein do not posses the longer hair of Kaia(females) which makes it easier for the force fields to cover their bodies. For the purpose of demonstrating the suit, Kii has exercised some of her ability as Ka'in and absorbed the longer hair back into herself for this round.

Sheliak
All must wear metal meshing when going out far from the tribe group. the meshing will get any attacking creatures teeth stuck and unable to severly penitrate on top of that their spikes are sticking out with would poke into the creatures tounge and mouth. ((the reason they dont wear pants or anything to cover their spikes is because it can get painful if the spikes snag on the fabric and contantly pull at their skin.)) this will alow the one getting attacked time to spike their tail and hit the creature. Colors of cloth are darker so they dont stand out as much expecily if they are going some were more lush in trees and plants. metal armor is not only visable on the chest but it also continues under the dress away from view. women who do go on trips carry lanterns for light if needed or baskets of grain, supplies or gifts. Their shoes are thick hide to protect their feet from unknown thorns, rocks, or other things. women must wear their hair up to keep it from getting in the way, or tangeling in trees. just because they are curious race doesnt mean they will be reckless.

Tarazed
Sorscha traveled into space and visited two other planets during her two years at the large, urban university where she studied biology. This is a standard protective suit worn both by most space travelers and planetary explorers, from freighter crews to scientists. Like the Anrenti race, the suits are very adaptable. They are designed to be both completely insulated and airtight for outer space, but easily converted to a lightweight, protective uniform for relatively hospitable planets. Most of the Anrenti physiology is tough and adaptable, so a relatively thin covering makes up most of the suit.

However, it was quickly discovered that the Anrenti's "horns" are sensitive to space and certain elements in alien atmospheres. Therefore, the suits are equipped with hard-shelled coverings at the shoulders and hands to protect them. Helmets protect the head horns, and a white covering can be applied in the event the atmosphere is breathable but corrosive. In space, the suit can be connected to an air filtration system and a helmet, but in Anren-like atmospheres, they are removed and a smaller headset added. Because of the Anrenti's sensitive sense of smell, both the helmet and headset include a scent filtration system, which pumps a pleasant, clean scent (synthesized by a green liquid) into the helmet or near the nose. Some Anrenti complain about the smell, but it's much better than some things found in the galaxy! The suits also have mandatory emergency functions and an internal communication system, which are controlled by a box strapped to the left hand. Thankfully, Sorscha never had the occasion to use anything but the communication function.

The suit Aghlean wears almost completely covers her skin. Only her hands and "feet" are left exposed. The spacesuit was developed mostly against toxic chemicals and unbreathable air, as they discovered their skin was not affected by being exposed when space traveling. Leaving their hands exposed, gives them the dexterity available to them normally, which would otherwise be hindered by bulky metal. Their feet are left exposed as it gives them the steadiest purchase on alien worlds, much like the planet Earth's elephant's feet. Being mainly metal, the suit is not very flexable, but a clothlike plastic ribbing is placed at all the necessary joints. To keep everything air tight, the suit is placed on loosely, and then a button pulls the wires connecting the edges shut tight. In addition, the suit features an air supply on the back, and a liquid food supply on their skull piece. Their eyes are very sensitive, so the eyes are kept covered at almost all times. Ahglean hopes that the world the competition is on doesn't hurt her eyes. The suit's colors are representative of the company that runs them, much to her disappointment (she wanted red and pink). Other companies (as there are many) suits feature colors other than green and blue.
